The Center's mission is to provide a fun, safe aquatic experience, and to teach good sportsmanship and water safety. Along with quality sailing instruction, kayaking, and canoeing are also taught.
LBYC was formed to promote yachting and competitive sportsmanship on a world-class level – and for nearly 100 years our reputation has matched our mission. Sailing members take part year-round in regattas, invitationals, championships, trips, and other events, and of course, access to our fleet of Catalina 37 One-Design racing yachts.
Alamitos Bay Yacht Club is a beacon of sailing excellence in the United States for nearly a century. Our vibrant community consists of sailors, racers, cruisers, and their families, all united by their love for the sport. Nestled on the shores of Alamitos Bay, our clubhouse offers year-round sailing, dynamic social events, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. At ABYC, we embrace diversity and inclusivity, welcoming all members and their guests regardless of age, race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, or disability.
